If you were in Light Mode, it switches to Dark, and vice-versa. This shortcut makes it possible to toggle between those modes by clicking on your own 'Dark-Light' app icon in the Dock. This is just one very simple example of how Automator can be used to streamline operations on your Mac. The last sentinel mac os. For those who have Dark Mode enabled, turning off wallpaper tinting can make windows on the Mac noticeably darker, especially when a lighter color background is in use. Apple introduced the wallpaper tinting feature in an earlier version of macOS, and some Mac users who prefer Dark Mode have been hoping for a toggle to disable it. Early Light, Light and Dark wallpapers for Mac OS 9. It's not just the latest versions of Mac OS that can have morning, noon and night versions of their wallpapers The original Mac OS 9 Appearance desktop photos can be used to (manually) create a different look according to the time in the day, when using OS 9. The Early Light, Light and Dark versions of the desktop just need to be dropped into the 'Photos', in the 'Desktop Pictures', 'Appearance' folder in the System folder (System Folder/Appearance/Desktop Pictures/Photos), then set using the 'Appearance' Control Panel, with the Mac OS Default theme 'underneath', then placing one of these pictures (using 'Fill Screen' in the picture settings) as the desktop, changing them throughout the day and evening. Note: only use these if you really want to spend time altering the desktop look of your OS 9 machine (or emulator) each day!

If you want to create a shell script so you can change between MacOS dark mode and light mode from the Terminal (Unix) command line, put this source code in a file and name it something like dark:
Dark Light Shine Mac Os Update
Then make that file executable, and make sure it's on your PATH. Now you can type dark
to toggle back and forth between dark mode and the regular light mode:
Dark Light Shine Mac Os Catalina
From looking at that AppleScript code you would think you'd need two shell scripts for this purpose, but for some reason that one command toggles back and forth between the two MacOS modes.
